This was not quite what I expected for an Election Unit. I was hoping for more activities/lessons about the process and less of items like crosswords and word searches. I also have had similar problems with quality as others have mentioned in feedback. However, I appreciate the time any teacher puts forth to put together something to share with others.

No matter what I opened this file with, Preview or Adobe Reader, it was never clear. I wish that I had been able to see how poorly this unit would open and print before I paid $6.00 for it. I would love my money back on this one! I have downloaded many things from TpT and this is the only one which has not been worth the money. Overpriced and under delivered.

I have not heard of anyone having this problem, you are the first to bring it up. You would need to contact TPT for more help with opening it or for a refund. I can also try and e-mail you the product if you provide me with your e-mail.

I'm sorry this won't work for you. It doesn't say common core in the product description though. The product overview also says it takes 2 weeks. Please try to research before making rush purchases to prevent this in the future.

I was disappointed in this packet and really should have read the reviews before purchasing it. While you do have a couple of pages that are worthy of using I think that 35 pages is misleading, most are just doubles with the answers printed on them. I only found use for 4 of the pages and am sure I could have found those for free. Thank you for putting the packet together but I really wished I hadn't spent my money on it.

I am sorry in your disappointment. This was a product used in my teaching that I made slight changes to post - I am not Scholastic. The product overview clearly says that there is an answer key included. Please try to research before making rush purchases to prevent this in the future.

I am disappointed in this "unit". It is not a unit, it's just busy work. It looks like you just found other activities from online, blew them up and pasted them down. The only origingal useful thing I found was the "Meet the Candidates". This was totally not worth the $7.00 I paid. None of the activities require critical thinking or applying student's knowledge. The grade levels for this should be 1-2, not 3-5. I feel I could have searched for worksheets online for the election for free.

Hello! I am considering buying your Election Extravaganza Unit, and am wondering if you could tell me a couple of things first. Does this unit include the topic of "voting?" Do you have materials provided for a "mock election" of some sort? Also, how long does it take to teach this unit? I teach Social Studies every other day, and am looking for a smaller unit to complement our chapter on government. Thank you!

Hi! Voting is not covered in much depth but there are materials included for a mock election including a ballot and information on the candidates.
This could is adjustable so it could take anywhere from 3-10 class periods depending on how many of the pages and activities you use. The most time is taken in using the dictionary, candidates bio, and three levels of government lesson.
