Great for an election year! Use these cards as a fun way to review any subject while also teaching students about the electoral college.
This set includes 51 individual state cards including an outline of the state and the number of electoral votes it has in the 2012 election.
To play, divide the class in to two teams (red and blue) and use your own review questions. When a team answers a question correctly, allow them to pick one of the state cards from a bag, off the top of the deck, etc. That team then earns as many points as that state has electoral votes. The first team to reach 270 wins.
Count up the points manually, or use an online electoral college calculator (http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/calculator.html). For an added geography lesson, you can also color in each state the appropriate color on a blank US map as they are "won" by each team.
