These posters are designed to augment guided reading group instruction from day one! They illustrate strategies I taught beginning readers to use as they learned how to decode unknown words. They can be used during class instruction and they can also be displayed around the room to assist students when they read independently. The bright colors and engaging pictures are designed to help students recall and use each strategy quickly. They are presented as 8 1/2 x 11 posters, but they can be easily enlarged or reduced.I suggest reproducing them on card stock and laminating them. I kept them on a bulletin board next to my desk for easy use during reading lessons.
