We are all looking for activities at the end of the school year to keep the students' attention, yet still provide for learning. I came up with this little activity in order to do just that.
This little skit is 1 page long. Each student has approximately 8 speaking parts, which makes this perfect for a one day reading lesson. The topic of this skit is 'My School Year', and it provides multiple places for students to fill in blanks about their school year.
Once given the skits and matched up with a partner, the two students will work together to decide who is student 1 and 2, and then they will work together to fill in the blanks on the skit.
A few of the topics they will fill in information on are: favorite part of the year, words to describe the teacher, who they hope to get for a teacher next year, boring part of the year, what they hope to do this summer.
If your students are like mine, they will look forward to the skits being recited by their friends. I'm sure they will get a few laughs, too.
This activity provides for: Building literacy skills, fluency, cooperative learning, filling in parts of speech to create complete sentences, speaking in front of peers, and so much more.
