These are quick to copy and easy to use student engagement tools. Simply copy onto colored paper or card stock, then give to students to cut, fold and assemble (see included diagram). Numerous topics are covered, and some can overlap into other content areas.
With the use of Flip-Sides, all students have the opportunity to respond individually (without feeling uncomfortable) in a nonverbal manner. Once they have decided on their response, the teacher can move on with the lesson, or use student's responses as a teachable moment or cooperative group opportunity. Classroom management generally is not an issue when these tools are in use. Students are excited to use something new and eager to share their responses.
Several of these do have graphics to enhance student's engagement and understanding, but they did not appear for me to select during the uploading/preview process. Please note: they do appear in the downloadable pdf.
