This is a great way to see if students are truly understanding the language of Shakespeare. This chart allows for flexibility in its use: as a quiz, as an in-class activity, or as homework after class reading/performing of each act. (This chart covers Acts 1, 2, and 3.) The first time I used this with 9th graders, it really opened my eyes--some of my usually slow readers really "got into" Shakespeare!

For the past 25 years I have taught everything from junior high (7th and 8th grade) English, including gifted ed, to university English and education, to adult education in a vocational rehabilitation center, to high school English, with an emphasis on AP Language and AP Literature. I currently teach at a STEM school that has an aviation and aerospace theme. I also have nearly ten years of online teaching experience.
