These homework entrance tickets make the perfect quick writing assessment. Students hand this to you as they walk in the door every morning and it serves as a quick formative assessment regarding writing, organization, and responsibility. It serves as an excellent indicator for students that had further trouble completing their homework from the prior evening and offers an opportunity for the teacher to have a quick, yet meaningful conversation with the student. There are 36 different topics that are common core aligned. Examples of topics include:
*School Day Reflections-"Explain a Concept You Learned About in School Today"
*Descriptive Writing-"Describe a Favorite Meal"
*Stating an Opinion-"Rate the Story and Defend Your Rating"
*Responding to Literature-"Do You Agree or Disagree With the Decisions That the Character Made in the Story?"

Love everything about this purchase except for the font used. I find it difficult to read and so do my students. The letters are too crowded up against each other. Otherwise, good material.
