Mini Lesson: Envisioning the Possibilities for Non-Fiction Writing
Appropriate Grade Levels: 2-6
Description: Boring reports are not the only way to present research. This lesson plan invites young writers to look closely at the different ways in which authors share facts and research by exploring several different information books. As students browse the pages of the books that they are immersed in during their Information Book unit of study, they notice and discover the many creative ways in which authors share information which helps them to envision possibilities for their own non-fiction writing.
