This smart board lesson is the first one I use to teach my students about fractions. Before introducing fractions, I teach my students about equal and not equal parts of shapes. This smart board lesson will prepare your students for learning about fractions.
(focus is on shapes with 2, 3, or 4 equal or not equal parts)
The file includes:
*teacher's notes
*2 anchor posters (equal and not equal parts of shapes)
*yes/no pages (shapes divided into equal parts?)
*pull tabs to find the shape with equal parts
*"magic drawing" pages (recorded pages) showing how to draw shapes and divide into equal parts
*erase to reveal equal parts (how many equal parts?)
*printable worksheet (to check for understanding)
Your students will have a good understanding of equal and not equal parts after completing these interactive activities and be ready to learn about fractions (fraction smart board lessons are available in my MATH category).

A++ is what I give you... I've been wondering how to turn "same or different?" into "equal or not equal?" for my kids with autism... you are AMAZing!! You should put "autism" as a tag for your math lessons!

Hi please help how to print this product using the notebook website. I was able to open it but there is no print option.

Hi! I'm not familiar with the notebook website. In order to print, you should just be able to select the print option in your notebook software that is installed on your computer. If you don't have notebook software, you may not be able to print. This file only works properly when opened with Smart Notebook software. If you can't use the file, you can click "contact us" below and email TPT to ask for a refund. If you DO have notebook on your computer, it should work.
