This focusing activity or "Do Now" erosion and deposition game sets the stage for the lesson cycle in a highly interactive way. Students accumulate explanations of the topics on erosion and deposition from their classmates. If they believe the explanation they are hearing is accurate, they invite their classmate to sign that square. When all topics are signed on their sheet and the teacher has confirmed through a lively class discussion if in fact the student who signed the squares are accurate then the student(s) are declared winners. This game takes 5 to 10 minutes of your lesson cycle and can last for several days. This activity is a good way to promote curiousity with the given topics or to make certain that the topics you taught are mastered by your students.
