If you have to post essential questions in your classroom then this resource pack is for you. The pack includes colorful posters and essential question strips that can easily be changed as you need them. There is a question to cover each standard. However, whenever possible we created an essential question that covers more than one standard. This helps with not having so many questions to organize and change out.
For example the question, How can talking about the nonfiction books we read help us learn new things? covers standards, Reading Informational Text 2-4. These compliment the Kindergarten Common Core Standards which can be found here:

Ms. Jump,
Our district is requiring us to post "I can" statements in our classrooms next year for Kindergarten. However, they also want "I will" statements posted.
I am having absolutely no luck find such an item... "I can" along with " I will" statements.
Can you help me with this? Thanks... love your items...

Look at this product and see if it will help. It has the Common core statements worded in both, "I can" and "We will" language. Thanks! http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Common-Core-Standards-Posters-for-Kindergarten

I love this purchase! I am a first year teacher teaching in Florida and was wondering if you could help me understand how you organized this. I see what I believe is the standard on the bottom right, but how did you break them down?

Hello-
I just purchased the Essential questions and you said that there is not currently a science or social studies. Is this still true? If not, have you updated the file to include these?
Thanks so much,

I bought the First Grade Essential Questions instead of the Kindergarten ones. Is there any way that I could switch it for the Kindergarten one for a small fee? I love your common core packet and would love to have the essential questions to go along with them. Thank-you for your amazing work!

Hi Deanna--

Congrats on you're amazing accomplishment! Question: Kinder Common Core-- that's for math and ELA? Also, what does "poster" mean? Am I going to have to take it to staples to make the poster or are they 8 !/2 x 11?

Thanks

hi deanna,
i purchased your essential questions packet because our district is asking us to post them instead of the actual objectives. I am in texas, so we don't have common core...however our TEKS(texas essential knowledge and skills) are very similiar if not exactly alike...My question is....what is the actual wording for the codes at the bottom right?..i am guessing R means reading but what would RI be?...
anyhow....i am needing you to help me 'decode' them so i can find the exact number or add one for my state teks.

HI There, Here's the link for the standards. This will help you out. :)

RL stands for Reading Literature
RI stands for Reading Informational Text
RF stands for Reading Foundational Skills (this is things like phonics, phonemic awareness, etc:)
Hope that Helps! Deanna

They are intended to be read and discussed at the beginning of the lessons. Most kindergarten kids can't read well enough to read them on their own.

Miss Deanna, Do you think you'll be making the common core standard posters and essential questions for the second grade curriculum? I love how you have it set up, especially with the pictures for our struggling readers. If not, I may have to buy the first grade set and try to copy your format. Please let me know when you get a chance. Thank you. Rebecca

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, I appreciate it.

Hi teacher friends. I have a question that doesn't directly pertain to Deanna's fabulousness. I have purchased many tpt products, purchased tons of cardstock yet it won't run through my printer. Can someone please tell me the type of printer that you use to print out all this awesome material! Please help!

Hi, Deanna. I purchased the standards and essential question posters for kindergarten. I was wondering how I can print them out as individual posters instead of the miniature ones on each page in the purchased download. I would like to print them out exactly the size in the Common Core display hot glued on the ribbon. Thanks so much. These are wonderful. I just need one standard/essential question per page.

Hi Tonia, I don't have them available that large. I often teach more than one standard at a time so I needed a way to display multiple standards one one page. That's how this set came to be. :) Sorry!

HI Deanna! A few weeks ago you said that you would take a picture and do a blog post of how you store these essential question cards. I am hoping that you will still do that because I can't figure out how to store these so they are easy to see. I know you're busy so just when you get a chance I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Hi Deanna! School is out for me and I am organizing a few things for next year. Would you mind telling me how you organize your essential question cards (I have them grouped the best way I know how but figure you have a great system) and how you store them so they are easy and quick to see. HELP and THANKS!

Thanks for making my life easier!
