Estimating fractions and mixed numbers is an important skill for students to learn for life as well as for mandated testing. This file consists of a reference sheet to help guide students on how to round a fraction to the benchmark locations of 0, 1/2, or 1. The reference sheet also tells them how to deal with mixed numbers.
Another lesson in the file requires students to round fractions to the benchmarks. They then take the letter associated with the answer to each problem to get an answer to a question posed at the top of the page.
The third lesson requires students to round factors of fractions and/or mixed numbers to come up with a reasonable product for the problem.
Answer sheets are provided for each of the practice lessons.

Memorial Site is being maintained for our aunt who passed away in 2011. She taught for 19 years in rural and urban areas. She created all these projects and posted them to share with other teachers.
