This PowerPoint begins by placing numbers on a number line to show which number the number is closer to.
It then progresses,by explaining that there is a way to round numbers without having to draw a number line.
It teaches students to round the number in the selected place value location and look to the number to the right. The rules for rounding are explained.
Then the students work through problems together, ending with a chance for students to round number to the selected place value by themselves.
