This 24 slide PowerPoint presentation thoroughly explains the process of estimating with addition and subtraction. It reviews rounding and provides students with interactive practice and independent practice. There are notes for students and teachers. Real life estimation problems help students master the concept of estimation by using key words and rounding to problem solve. The lesson wraps up with test practice. This presentation was created by Elizabeth Hill and is currently used in her third grade classroom.

I use this in my classroom as a teaching tool. I allow students to work out the problem before I click to show them the answer. I teach the whole process of solving the problem and allow them to solve some with me, some with their partners, and some individually. Without the answers, the students wouldn't know how to solve the problem correctly. If you would like to delete the answers, you can click on the text box with the answer and click delete.
That is great! I use it over a few days. Doing rounding one day, then addition, and then subtraction. You can use it all at once or spread it out. Whatever works best for your students.

Awesome! Just a sidenote...Why don't you have the key word "about" underlined in your examples so that kids know that they are suppose to find the estimate, not the exact answer. Just a thought.
You are exactly right. It was supposed to be and I overlooked it when I was editing. My husband even mentioned it and I thought that I had changed it. I will update it and send you a notification. Thank you so much for your feedback.
