Allow your students to be a part of history with this package of skits about the events leading up to the American Revolution. Using this innovative teaching tool, not only will your students act out historical events, but they will also take part in the writing process.
Each skit contains two scenes, the second of which must be completed by a group of students. Directions are included that clearly guide the students through the completion of their skit. This method allows students to add their own flavor to the drama, giving them greater ownership of their performances.
Five skits are included in the package:
-
The Stamp Act
-
The Boston Massacre
-
The Boston Tea Party
-
The Intolerable Acts (The Coercive Acts)
-
The First Continental Congress
The skits are historically accurate and contain factual people and places such as: Patrick Henry, Samuel Adams, Crispus Attucks, Paul Revere, John Adams, King George III, George Grenville, The Sons of Liberty, Peyton Randolph, Henry Middleton, Charles Thomson, Carpenters' Hall, Lord Frederick North, and William Lemon.
The package of skits includes about 12 pages of material.
Download the zip file and you will receive a folder containing five Microsoft Word documents, one for each skit. Owning these documents in the Microsoft Word format will allow you to edit the skits as you please so that you can tailor them to your students' needs.
