Did you know that there are seven very important events in American history when one vote has changed the course of our nation? In this unit students will learn that every vote counts in an election. They will discuss the 15th, 19th, 24th and 26th amendments in relation to the history of voting in the United States, and they will learn about the seven actual events in American history that altered the course of our country. Students will participate in class discussions, small group work and, for a culminating activity, write a persuasive paper on the importance of voting.
All handouts as well as a persuasive writing outline are included.
This is a really great set of assignments! I cannot wait to use them in my classroom as I think the kids will really like them and really see value in doing them.
