This Powerpoint goes with the textbook series Expresate. My students LOVE this activity, and as a result I have these for almost every chapter. The first part of the powerpoint is just flashcards. The picture comes up first and then the word does on a mouse click. At the end of all of the flashcards, there is a screen with all of the pictures. We then use this screen for a game my students call "Smack That." The class is divided into 2 teams. Each team has one representative come forward each round and that person is given a fly swatter. I then call out a vocabulary word. Both team representatives try to be the first person to correctly "Smack That" vocabulary picture. That person gets a point for their team. This works great for review right before a vocabulary quiz.

We began our teaching careers volunteering at public schools in Puebla, Mexico and Costa Rica. Upon returning to the United States, we began teaching high school Spanish. Our classes are made up of juniors and seniors. We also taught some continuing education classes to adults at a local community college.
