This 30 page versatile packet includes both color and black and white ink-saving outlined image pages so you can pick which you want to use. It also includes clip art to accent your anchor charts when teaching or to display on a bulletin board with the final writing pieces. You can use it to teach writing with any fall-themed topic/assignment. I've aligned it with the K-4 Common Core Standards for you. It could also be used to meet 5th and 6th grade standards as well.

I use this activity as a writing sample to show progress throughout the year. The students write about each of the seasons as they begin. I save each piece of work and then put them together sequentially in a portfolio. It is great for conferences and makes a wonderful keepsake for the student.

All of my packets include: brainstorming webs, top down graphic organizers, draft pages and editing pages and often much more! I have found that using the same consistent format really helps the students grow as writers.

This packet aligns with the Common Core:
KINDERGARTEN
K.W.1 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose an opinion piece about the winter season
K.W.2 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose an explanatory piece about an event related to the winter season.
K.W.3 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose a narrative about a winter event.
K.W.4 With guidance add details to strengthen writing.

I notice you have 30 pages in this packet. Do you include pages for all the seasons? I'd like to start it with winter since I missed it during the fall.

Thanks Chilocg! The 30 pages include differentiated printables so that you can modify them to meet the varied needs of your learners and used in grades K-5. They are all themed to go with the Autumn Writing. I also have the winter packet available at the link below and will be adding spring and summer by the end of Feb 2013.
