This is a set of phrases and short sentences that are made from the first 100 words in the Fry Instant Word List. The Fry list of 100 words represents 50% of the words that elementary children will encounter. This set is meant to be copied onto cardstock the cut apart and ready to use! Use a few cards at a time with students until they master them-fluency (automaticity, accuracy, and prosody). These could even be sent home with parents to work on them with their children.

Yes they are! I have them on an o-ring and my kiddos flip through and read them to a partner all while being timed. When they go through them again they try to beat their time!

I have been teaching since 2000. I started out in 4th grade for two years then went on to teach 3rd grade for 6 years. I have been teaching 1st grade ever since and have loved every bit of it. I believe all elementary teachers need to experience 1st grade for at least a year....there is so much learning and growing going on...it is amazing!
