How many words can your students make when they scramble the letters in Leap Day Traditions? This puzzle activity will provide lots of discussion and competition for the most words, the longest words, and the most unusual words. Students will use problem solving skills, spelling, and vocabulary skills when they work out their letter combinations. This 9-page puzzle packet includes notes to the teacher, directions for students, the puzzle activity page, a master for letter tiles, and a comprehensive KEY to the puzzle. One of the best features of this puzzle activity is that everyone is successful! Students of all ages and skill levels love Letter Scrambles! I have personally used the activities with students from grade 4 through adults, including general education students, special education students, and ELL students. The activity can even be repeated. Students will find more words, especially as they become adept at seeing the transformations. Please also look for my other puzzle packets by month or holiday. Have fun!

My teaching experience includes 25 years as a K-12 teacher, curriculum administrator, and district federal/state programs administrator. As a teacher, I specialized in middle school language arts and mathematics. Since retiring from the K-12 system, I have been teaching curriculum and education courses at the bachelors' and masters' degree levels as well as supervising student teachers. I am also a successful grant writer, specializing in competitive state and federal grant projects. As a private contractor, I also work to help teachers who need assistance to improve their skills.
