This Zip file includes two versions (one pdf one Word) of a leprechaun trap design activity you can add to your St. Patrick's Day files. A PowerPoint (in PDF form) presentation is included which shows pictures of leprechaun traps designed and built by past students. Use the show to introduce the design activity or as a stand-alone inference activity.

I haven't assessed this in the past. If I did, I would probably have students write a response in their reading response spiral that we use weekly to write letters back and forth about their reading and then use the rubric for that so I didn't need to create anything new.
I am currently in my eleventh year of teaching. I've worked in two (very different!) schools in Utah and Colorado. I've spent one year teaching 5th grade and the other ten in 3rd. Hooray for third grade! I love it!
