The goal of the game is for students to read oi/oy words and 'planet hop' back to Earth. I sometimes put out this game for students to play during Word Work (as part of the Daily 5) with cards that focus on the spelling or phonics pattern we are learning. It's always a hit and so easy to differentiate with. You could also use it for math centers (just change the cards) or literacy work stations.
With the cards provided, there is 3 levels of play:
1.Level 1 words
2.Level 2 words
3.Level 3 - spell either Level 1 or 2 words.
You could even just substitute with your own cards (spelling or math) and you've got another game! Such a versatile board because there is nothing on the board that marks it as only for oi and oy words.
