I purchased blank board games from Bare Books and made these directions for cooperative groups. The directions include expository writing (clear directions), designing the game, and planning who will be doing what part on the game. Since my 5th graders will partnering with 3rd graders during math, the focus on their game creation was to teach 3rd graders basic math facts in their game design. The project was a huge success! I have worked for a school district for over 20 years in various positions,including administrative assistant for curriculum and Title I and office manager of a large elementary school. I have a Masters in Teaching degree from Southern Oregon University. I have been teaching for 10 years. I recently acquired the position of TOSA for technology/math/science at the elementary level.
