I have always struggled teaching this topic, and another teacher shared this song and it worked wonders on my students. I made this graphic organizer to tie everything together for them and it worked great.
The first page is what is given to the students and the 2nd page is your reference for what the song is saying. I usually have the students make a beat on the desk and they will remember the song, which will let them factor cubes!

boy, it isn't to a particular song, it is more a type of rap and the kids beat on the desk. My internet and computer isn't running too well right now, so the best way for you to hear is if you give me a call. That is about the only way I can explain it to you. This is currently my 10th year teaching high school math. I started my career teaching in Quincy, Florida for 2 years. After that I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for 3 years. I tried it back home where I grew up in Juneau, Alaska for 3 years. And now I am back in Winston Salem, North Carolina and I am currently in my 3rd year here and 2nd year as the Department Chair. I am hoping not to move anymore because I am very happy right now.
