This exercise uses passages from 451 to help students practice identifying and understanding the concepts of symbolism, alliteration, metaphor, simile, irony and foreshadowing.
Sentences from the text are given, and students must correctly identify the type of figurative language it is. They must then explain why the sentence is an example of that concept.
