"Fairy Tale" Mix and Match Problem Solving Pack is a collection of 25 word problems that involve skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication (or repeated addition), division (or equal groups), patterns, calendar, time and length. All of the problems have a high-interest fairy tale theme that is sure to motivate your students!
What does Mix and Match mean?
"Mix-and-match" refers to the fact that these 25 word problems are presented in four different ways. This will enable you to better fit your classroom needs and keep your problem-solving routine fresh and exciting!
The 25 word problems are included in the following formats that you can mix and match to meet your needs:
- math journal strips that can be cut-and-pasted into student math journals or notebooks
- center cards: Simply cut, laminate and place these cards at your problem-solving center! Students record their answers on the accompanying recording sheet.
- show your Work half-pages that students can write on and place directly into a binder or folder

- a PowerPoint slide show that can be used to introduce each problem and infuse technology into your math lessons!

These are really good. I wish you had more that were geared mainly to first grade. Some of the ones in the packet are a little too high for my first grade darlings. I am sure, though, that near the end of the year they will be helpful for my higher achieving students. :)
