I often look for a quick writing activity to go along with the season, day, or another theme, and have come up with the "Quick Write" activity. It asks a question or gives an idea for writing that is quick - it lets me see sentence structure, forming an idea, handwriting, spelling sight words, editing, sticking to one topic while writing. These are easy to correct and a good way for parents to see progress too. They can be used as a "journal" writing or developed into a bigger writing project.
