-5 journal covers (Back to School, September, Autumn, October, and Halloween)
-an instructions pages
-journal pages with illustration box
This is how I use it:
1. Make one copy of the cover page, and several copies of the word of the day pages. To copy front and back, turn the page upside down on the back. It should fold over and make a book. (this is always trial and error for mebut that should do it).
2. Use Halloween words for the word of the day. (pumpkin, bat, scarecrow, ghost, October)
3. The students write the word of the day and add a few sentences for a story or just to describe the object, then they draw a picture.
I use this as a warm up activity when they arrive in the morning. At the beginning of the year I give them sentences to copy. As the year progresses I give them prompts to write on their own.
