Hi there! You most likely have an outdated version of Flash player... go to adobe.com and download the latest. (At the very least, right-click on the SWF file and Open with --> Internet Explorer or Firefox or whatever browser you use... Let me know if this works or not, and have a great week! :-)

Hi Matt,

I recently purchased your "Family Feud" game, and really like what it has to offer. I have built my text file and done a few quick test runs before I use it with the kids. I have run across a somethings that is quirky and I don't know if it is user error or if the program is designed that way. I was in the HOST GAME mode.

Issue # 1. Control of the board - If all answers are given control bounces from team 1 to team 2 just as I expect. But when a team gets 3 strikes and the other team gets control (they can give correct answer or strike), the game does not consistently move control in a manner that I can explain to the kids. For instances Team 1 strikes out and Team2 gets control they strike out, control sometimes goes to Team 1 and sometimes to Team 2.
It does not matter which round it is in the game.

Hmmm.... That's weird... i DO know that at the beginning of a new round, the team with the LOWEST points gets to start (no matter who started in the last round)... I'll take a look at what you're referring to, and hopefully i can find the bug that you discovered! send your email address to mcurless@hotmail.com and if I fix it, i'll send you an updated copy. Have a great week!

Hi Matt
I bought your previous versions of Feud and just purchased edition3. However, I don't know how to change name. As you may recall I use this for churches and would like the game title to be "Faithful Feud". Can you help. Victor

I am having problems with first letters lopping off the answers, no matter how many times I retype them. I am following your example. Mine look the same, but don't act the same. Thank you for your prompt reply!

Not a problem, Ellen. Let me take a look at it. Email me the TXT file at the address in the ReadMe file and I'll solve it for you. Happy Holidays!

Hi Matt,
I've downloaded this program and so far it's working great. Just one question... Is there any way to set up a "face off" at the beginning like in the real Family Feud game where one player from each team guesses and whoever guesses the most popular answer gets to choose to play or pass? From what I've seen, the way it is set up now, Team 1 automatically starts first. Thanks - Mark

Hi Mark! Yeah, I've thought long and hard about the best way to do a face-off, but the best method would be to have both teams hover over the keyboard (which doesn't work well in a classroom setting)... If you've got any good ideas, let me know! :-) (And yes, Team 1 starts first, then Team 2 starts teh 2nd round, then i THINK it's whoever is winning starts the next rounds...) Enjoy!

Is this application downloadable for mac? if so, how?

I've had several people download it and play it on the mac with no problems - but I'm not sure what your specific question is... you're best off giving it a shot (perhaps with the help of another mac user) and email me on the ReadMe file in the folder when you get stuck. Enjoy!

Just wanting to make sure this game is totally interactive. Can I actually set up two teams, ask questions, select their answers, keep score, etc?????
Also, in reading through the previous questions, can you still update the name of the game with a specific group, if desired?
Thanks!

Hi Juli... The answer to all of your questions is YES... I've updated it recently so you can change the NAME of the game, too. All you have to do follow the directions included with the game. If you ever get stuck, just email me, but the directions are pretty easy to understand. Have a great day!

Matt - is this a PowerPoint program?
October 22, 2009 Report inappropriate comment

No, it's MUCH better than a PowerPoint program... it runs off of the Flash player on your Internet. Follow the direction included on the ReadMe file that I included, and you should be all set. (As always, email me on the address included if you have any questions. Enjoy!)
