I love your packets and am interested in the family activities but I have a number of students from non-traditional families (grandparents, gay parents, aunt/uncles, etc) Is your packet sensitive to those issues or is it traditional "mom and dad"? I have been pitching all of my old stuff since it could be insensitive to my little ones.

I've gone and looked at the packet again to be sure I can answer this question. First of all, there are activities that talk about moms, dads, babies, siblings, grandparents as being people that CAN be in a family. However, most activities are centered around who is in THEIR family, not a set kind of family. A lot of the activities are just about things families can do, no matter who is in the family. There are activities about "homes" and the different kinds of places they might live. I don't think you will find it insensitive. If you should find something offensive, you can email me at kim@adsit.net. I thnk you will find it appropriate. :)

1. It sounds like you are either opening with an old version of Adobe Reader or if you have a Mac, you may be opening it with a Mac program called "Preview" and not even know it.
Preview has documented problems opening modern Adobe files. If you have a Mac, try opening Adobe Reader first (rather than just double clicking on the file), then open the file within

You may also choose to set the default reader to Adobe Reader by following the instructions below.
2. If you are still having opening and you know you are using Adobe, look to see if you have a newer version. You can check the version by clicking Help then About from within reader. If you have a version earlier than 5.0 or 6.0, you should update your reader. Please let us know if either of these actions solves the problem.

I just bought your "Family Fun" unit and it looks so great, I can't wait to use it! However, all of the directions and written text are not showing up, its just blank pages or random lines of black. I really want to use this unit but missing all of your directions and tips makes it tough!
