This is a writing unit (1-1 1/2 weeks) I do with my students to get them exploring ideas/issues involving nutrition. The unit begins by reading and annotating the article "Fast Food Nation." Then students come up with a focus question of their choosing to explore in their own articles. Students come up with survey questions, administer surveys, and then analyze the data. Finally, students go through the writing process (pre-writing, drafting etc...) to put their articles together.
