This book is intended for educators to identify, assess, and direct student achievement in each specific standard. The books are intended to be used in conjunction with the Meeting Mastery Name Tagsâ„¢, but can be used by themselves too. This book has 36 quizzes based on 12 of the California state standards. The standards were chosen based on what standards need to be mastered within each time period. We have set up the "Meeting Mastery Math Quizzes" books by grade and trimester. If your school does not use the trimester system, then think of it as beginning, middle and end of the year. Most quizzes have 10 problems which makes it easy to determine a score. Mastery is determined by the teacher, but should be 80% or higher.
Suggestions for use:
*You can use quiz #1 as a review or one you do with your class and then quiz#2 and quiz #3 can be used to determine if the student has demonstrated mastery.
*You might want to teach the standard and then administer the quizzes and if the student completes 2 of the 3 quizzes with 85% or greater they have mastered that standard.
*The 3 different quizzes make it easy to test a class with different forms of the test to ensure that the student is doing the work themselves.
*Students that are working at a higher level than the rest of the class could take the quizzes to demonstrate mastery and then move on to another standard.
*Great to use with standard based report cards, because most quizzes are a single standard and can be used to determine if a student has mastered a specific standard.
