Final Consonant Blends Literacy Station Word Work

A collection of 9 stations with a formative assessment that helps students learn and independently practice final consonant blends.

This includes a student choice board with files and directions for accompanying station activities.

The stations include activites such as a Create a Book, Back to Back game, Cube Game and more. These stations are designed to be used for one week where students select one station per day or could also be used for two weeks in which all stations will be completed by the end of two week period.

The open nature of the activities allows for differientiated levels to be met with your students while working on the same concept.

Station 1: Book - Students create their own ending blends book by writing sentences using the concept. There is a place to add illustrations.

Station 2: Lunch Box Matching- Read the clues on the lunchbox and match with the correct picture.

Station 3: Back-To-Back Game - Students select a picture card with an ending blend. They give clues to their partner to help them solve the word.

Station 4: Cube Game - Roll the ending blends cube. Think of a word that has an ending blend and it to your game board. The 1st board filled in...wins!

Station 5: Ending Blends Word Search. Students will read the words at the bottom of the page. They will write what the word means and draw a picture. Then students will find the word in the Word Search.

Station 6: Bingo- Students will label each picture. Students will color the pictures that have an ending blend. Draw a line to show where you have 3 in a row.

Station 7: Beginning and Ending Sounds Game - Play in pairs or small groups. Choose a beginning and a word ending card. Did you make a word? Each word counts as a point!

Station 8: Pound, Tap, and Stamp- Students will pound the word and tap out the sounds. Students will stamp or write the sounds in the boxes provided. Blends stay together.

Station 9: Make it, Paint, it, Tear it! - Students may create any ending blend item by painting a picture, torn paper art, or by using various art materials to come up with their own creative masterpiece. Then students will write clues describing their masterpiece.
