This is a 13 page workbook to accompany the story "Finding the Titanic" by Robert D. Ballard. Skills covered include: author's purpose, punctuation and quotation marks, multiple meaning words/using a thesaurus, combining sentences, compound sentences, fact/opinion, synonyms/antonyms, making connections, reference materials, possessives, spelling/language conventions, writing skills, figurative language, vocabulary, identifying narrator, genre, prefixes/suffixes, prepositions, coordinating conjunctions, verbs and adverbs, Latin roots, proper nouns, and cause and effect. This workbook is an invaluable tool in covering state standards and helping 4th grade students with comprehension and numerous language arts skills. The page numbers referenced in this workbook correspond to the story in the Houghton Mifflin® Anthology "Traditions" from their California Reading program. If you are using another version of "Finding the Titanic", this will still be useful to you, but you may have to modify a few things.
