This Smartboard lesson contains 10 pages where there are lines on a coordinate plane. The students drag two points over and put them at intersection points. Next they use rise over run to calculate the slope. The students write their answers and then touch a reveal button to show the correct slope.
This was a great visual for my students. They seemed to have a hard time locating where to put their points. This worked and let students come up to the board and do it themselves!
Teaching is a career change for me. I spent almost 20 years in the engineering field. I am now going into my 9th year of teaching math in the middle school.
