This is a wonderful first day activity, which also teaches inferences at the same time! Students meet four of their classmates and enjoy conversations about their summers, while at the same time making inferences about the classmates they meet. On the attached chart, students write: 1) Student's name, 2) something they did this summer, 3) make an inference, and 4) explain. Enjoy!
