This is a slide lab on the flatworms and roundworms.
Purpose: To examine slides of a variety of flatworms and roundworms to see their various structures and features.
Materials required for this lab:
Microscope
Prepared slide of Planaria
Prepared slide of Taenia, the Tapeworm
Prepared slide of Sheep Liver Fluke
Prepared slide of Trichina Worms
Prepared slide of Hookworms
Students will look at each of the slides under the microscope. Students will be asked to draw what they see and to label various structures. Students will also answer a variety of questions about each slide. This can be completed in one class period and provides great reinforcement to material already covered in class on flatworms and roundworms.
Your download will include a lab that is ready to be copied and passed out to your students. You can choose to have your students write their own lab reports, or you can use the included student data pages.
