"Scoop the Pelican" scoops words into meaningful phrases... Can YOU??
"Scoop the Pelican" is a fluency tool that helps students practice word and sentence phrasing! Students record sentences on the five sentence strips to cut-out and feed through the pelican's mouth!
Students benefit from the tactile feature of using this tool and can work toward scooping words without the slash marks. This scooping strategy allows for easy transition into finger-scooping printed text, and later into natural scooping without a finger!
**Students may need help cutting the mouth slot! I've also found that laminating the pelican allows for a smoother feed into the mouth of the pelican!
