Using Flying Friends Journal Covers:
Composition books and primary lined journals are a classroom standard. Personalize them with cute journal covers to make them special, and to suit your classroom style.
Print one style, choose different covers for different subjects or writing groups, or let students pick their own favorite.
Want them to go with a different classroom
theme? Use the back cover sheet as your cover
and add your own artwork, or have students decorate.
These are sized to fit Mead Primary Journals, but they also work for other standard composition books. I've included lined pages as well, in case you'd just like to assemble your own journal for a short unit or project.
A note about printing: Be sure to select "No page scaling" in your pdf print menu, to be sure the covers fit properly.

These are perfect for my classroom! We are the "Brainy Birds" :) It's so hard to find anything with birds on it, and I usually have to make my own things (which I am not very good at). Thank you!!

My students started math journals just about a month ago. I've been looking at the front of their composition books thinking how ugly they are. This is such a great idea. I especially like that you included the option for us to make our own customized cover. That allows for all types of interests and subject areas.

Excellent! Be sure to print the pdf with "no page scaling." I need to go add that to the description. The scale is especially important on this since it's sized to fit perfectly.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 10 years of teaching experience in the elementary grades, and 8 years as a parent. I'm passionate about creating products that combine what I know about education from both perspectives. Before staying home with my three young boys, I taught grades 3-6. I also subbed in grades K-12. I currently blog at www.smalltypes.com, where I exercise my "teacher brain" by sharing tips for parents to help them create a print-rich home. I keep up with best practices through continuing education; I volunteer in my sons' classrooms; and like most parents, I do plenty of after-school teaching to support my own kids' learning at home.
