There are two goal setting exercises included in this file. The first is a sheet for foreign language students to set goals for themselves for the year in a general sense. There are guidelines regarding the language itself as well as instructions for good goal-setting. The second file is more specific and guides students through language-learning-specific goals. Students first rate their success in areas such as speaking and writing and then write goals for themselves based on their answers. These goal sheet are not specific to any language, though they can be easily modified to have students write personal goals for one particular language.

I have been teaching World Language (French, Spanish, Italian) at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 16 years. I regularly present foreign language teaching methodology workshops at state, regional and national conferences and in teacher preparation programs at various universities. I have spent time volunteering in schools in impoverished areas of Nicaragua and a portion of the money earned through TPT is used to buy school supplies (pencils, paper, books) for students at the Panama School in La Concha, Nicaragua.
