Science Tasks with Otis & Flask were designed as centers to reinforce science concepts in grades 3-6. These centers include Teacher Background information, Task Cards for each center that provide information for the student (including "I can" statements), photocopy-ready student packet pages which many include student observation sheets, data sheets, student readings, vocabulary, and assessment items. An answer key is also included. Be sure to download the Teachers Guide for standards correlations.

In the FOSSILS center:
Students will observe photos of fossils and artist rendered images of the organism. The center is designed to help students think through their understanding of present-day environments and organisms in order to make interpretations about fossils and changes that could affect an organisms survival. This science center is designed so that students use their observational data and knowledge
of modern organisms to answer a question, then they explain their thinking and check their answer. They repeat this process, each time reinforcing the content.

Natureglo's Art and Science eCenter (TpT Seller)
This is a fantastic center! I love fossils and have a large collection of them. When I taught in the classroom, I'd lay them out as a center with a magnifying class. I actually have some fossilized ammonites and a chambered nautilus shell in my collection. I teach live online classes with CurrClick.com. Love the creativity of Otis & Flask--center seems easy to use and doesn't require a ton of hard to get materials. The reading passage is great and the assessment items reflect achievement assessments.
