Contains two similar activities. In the first, the circle is already divided into 24 pieces. In the second, the students must calculate how many pieces to divide the circle into, and then use a protractor to divide accurately.

LOVED THIS ACTIVITY! I tried it today with 3rd-6th grade gifted and talented class. I revised it a bit for the 3rd and 4th graders but they were able to understand it. The 5th and 6th graders loved it and I put their finished circles all around the room. It looks awesome. Thank you for such a fun activity!

I am going to use this for my 7th graders. We just went over how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. I am so excited to have something a little more creative and be able to express themselves! I also love how you can differentiate this activity with students! Thanks so much!

I absolutely love this! I'm going to use it tomorrow with my Alg 1 Pt 2 8th graders. Let's hope that they remember their fraction operation rules!
Feedback update:
It went great! We had to review the rules for multiplying and dividing with mixed numbers which led to a review on turning mixed numbers into improper fractions. To better help them remember I showed them visually what 3 2/3 looks like and how it visually is the same as 11/3. It was a great first day activity to break up the monotony of a boring day full of rules and procedures. The final products are hanging up in my room right now. LOVED this activity! It will definitely be on my lesson plan for Day 1 next year.

I am a certified Math/Science teacher. I started teaching in the NC public school system for 4 years, followed by 4 years of private school education in PR. When my son was born I "retired" from teaching and started a math tutoring business in my home so I could be with him during the daytime. 17 months later we welcomed boy/girl twins and so I'm a full-time mom and part-time worksheet creater.
