This is a relatively easy reading (for more advanced students) about the immigration of French-Canadians into New England. The story is followed by several diagrams that students fill in to see visually how the information relates to each other. These diagrams faciliate conversation after reading. I have found this works best in small groups and the students are able to use French a great deal.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching World Language (French, Spanish, Italian) at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 16 years. I regularly present foreign language teaching methodology workshops at state, regional and national conferences and in teacher preparation programs at various universities. I have spent time volunteering in schools in impoverished areas of Nicaragua and a portion of the money earned through TPT is used to buy school supplies (pencils, paper, books) for students at the Panama School in La Concha, Nicaragua. Learn more about the school HERE. I am also working on curriculum development with schools in Haiti and will dedicate a portion of your purchase in this area as well.
