Need some additional activities for your French students to practice house vocabulary? These were written for an 85-minute French 2 class taught every other day. There are two speaking/listening activities (one of which includes drawing pictures...always fun for students). A third activity is a paragraph writing assignment where the student describes his own home and then one room in particular.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grades Taught:
Subject Area:

I am a retired language teacher with 30 years of experience teaching French and ESL at the high school level. I helped to create the ESL program at our school when it became clear in the mid 1990's that our immigrant student population was growing very quickly , and we had no plan for how to educate them effectively. While I loved teaching French, teaching ESL was my passion! I taught everything from grammar to reading and usually found myself creating all my own materials as there was very little to choose from in the first several years of our program.
