This is a fun way for students to practice or review the imperfect in French. The activity is magic squares. There are 16 squares in each grid and each contains a conjugated form of a verb in the imperfect in French. Next to the grid are 16 subject/infinitive verb pairs. The student writes the number of the subject/verb with the correct verb form in the grid. If done correctly, each row, column, and diagonal add up to 34. Great as a class starter or for a substitute.

I have been teaching World Language (French, Spanish, Italian) at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 16 years. I regularly present foreign language teaching methodology workshops at state, regional and national conferences and in teacher preparation programs at various universities. I have spent time volunteering in schools in impoverished areas of Nicaragua and a portion of the money earned through TPT is used to buy school supplies (pencils, paper, books) for students at the Panama School in La Concha, Nicaragua.
