This is an interactive PowerPoint where students practice their oral French by listening to pattern sentences and repeating them. This particular file practices using "avoir" and family and color vocabulary.
In the Powerpoint,
the words in the sentences appear as they are being said, allowing students to read as they repeat. The PowerPoint is designed for students who have very little or no French at all and lets them start speaking and listening in French from the 1st day of class. It uses repetition to reinforce new vocabulary and sentence structures and can be used as a whole class lesson, as individual practice or for homework.
The second file is a PDF document with worksheets and illustrated vocabulary lists
to allow students to use the pattern sentences they are learning in the PowerPoint to write their own sentences about family and everyday items.
The Powerpoint contains 40 slides as follows:
Slides 3-8: Family vocabulary and verbs "avoir" and "appeler".
Slides 9-11: Question about family and model of follow up practice worksheet.
Slides 12-20: Using "j'ai" with everyday items. Colors and "mon" and "ma".
Slides 21-23: Question about what you have, its color and model of follow up practice worksheet.
Slides 25-28: A repeat of slides 4-8, but adding a sentence with "aimer".
Slides 29-35: A repeat of slides 14-20, but adding a sentence saying what you can do with the object using verbs "manger, "ecrire and asseoir".
