This lesson involves the students in a reading activity as a way of previewing or introducing the events of the French and Indian War. When I wrote this lesson several years ago, my county was using a different curriculum that included more American history, but we later moved to a curriculum heavier on Georgia history. I have included both versions of the lesson. The zip file will include these three documents:
1. Sequencing Activity for F and I War American History- this version of the lesson is based on American history. It includes the lesson plan, the sequencing activity, and an answer key. This lesson is very detailed and more appropriate for high school students or advanced middle school students.
2. Sequencing Activity for F and I war Georgia History - this is the version of the lesson I re-wrote when my county curriculum changed. I also wrote it for the entire grade level so it could be used with all students (middle school level).
3. F and I War Power Point - I created this power point to use with the Georgia version of this lesson. The power point includes a warm-up predicting activity (can be used with both versions of this lesson), student directions for the reading activity, answers to the activity, a graphic organizer with notes, and a summarizing activity. It also includes maps that show the colonies pre and post war.
The previews allows you to view JPEGS of all these documents. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you!

Help
I have taught middle school for fifteen years in a large suburban district just north of Atlanta, Georgia. I have taught all three grade levels both language arts and social studies. This year, I will be serving as the school's full-time literacy coach.
