Friendship First Aid Kit covers 17 relationship problems that occur in elementary and middle school:tattling, anger, complaining, bossiness, putting others down, intensifying a disagreement, attempting to keep friends from having other friends, etc. This material was written out of self-defense due to the friendship problems knocking on her counselor door. Patricia Taylor Kienzle is the author of the "Life is like a pickle. Sometimes it's sweet. Sometimes it's sour." program. She has also written a conflict management program for elementary students called "Dinosolve." These two books also have lessons related to Friendship First Aid. Parts of Friendship First Aid can be used for students under second grade, but there is an abundance of materials for the younger children in the two books mentioned above.
This is a lesson I did early in my school counseling years and have not had time to redo it. It originally had pickle people to go with the Life is Like a Pickle theme.

Thanks for the update. This will be good for my fourth and fifth grade lunch bunch groups!
When I taught this last year, the students brought up texting and Facebook. Who would have ever thought our young children would be involved in such activities?
This was a big help. I used ideas from this lesson to help me make one that connected mathematics problem solving to friendship. It turned out pretty good. Thank you!

Did you ever get it to work? Several have sold lately and I haven't heard of a problem. Please let me know if it didn't work, and I'll see what I can find out.

Was this originally a MarCo packet? Seems like I used something like this years ago at another school, but had to leave it behind.
Once I send it to teachers pay teachers I do not have anything to do with it.
I will see how I can contact them. I have sold so many copies of this. I wonder what could have happened.
I resubmitted it to teachers pay with some revisions. did you get it to work?

I just purchased this lesson and am missing:
Friendship First Aid Reminder sheet containing
17 statements for healthy friendships
Discussion Guide numbered to correspond
with the 17 statements
My download contains the quiz, practice problems and posters only. Thanks for your help. Looking forward to using this!
I found the flash drive and there is a blank page where the discussion guide should be. I hope I can find a hard copy of it. I know I have copy of the 17 statements.
I found what had disappeared in a copy I had at school. You should be getting a notification of revisions.
I have mine copied and ready to use with third grade.

I really like your Friendship First Aid Kit but where is the Discussion Guide numbered to correspond with the 17 statements? It is listed on the page that says "Materials Included in Friendship First Aid" but I cannot find it in the download. Thanks! - Virginia
I am looking into this, I submitted this quite a while ago and must have written a discussion guide. I've done the lessons so many times, I never made a copy to put with my set. I cannot get to the original document from this site to check it out. Just want to make sure you didn't find it. If it is missing, I can't believe no one has mentioned it in the last couple of years.
