This product includes a Full Year of Health Curriculum Lesson Plans - 62 files.
Each topic contains a PowerPoint presentation, Notes Outline and Homework Assignment. In total, there are 19 PowerPoint Presentation Lesson Plans, 18 Notes Outlines, 17 Homework assignments, 3 Transparencies/Handouts, 1 Activity, a Lesson Plan Template, an Open House/First Day of School PowerPoint Presentation and a Course Syllabus Template. All individual components of this curriculum can be purchased and viewed separately in my main catalog.
My PowerPoint presentations have been made to be both informative on curricular topics and visually stimulating for all students. 100% of my students prefer to receive and discuss new topics via PowerPoint (compared to reading textbooks, lectures, or copying information off of the board). I have found that this method works extremely well with both mainstreamed and inclusion students. When I taught in a traditional HS, I provided a notebook with all the slides for students who needed to take a second look at a slide or were absent for the day.
Health Curriculum Lesson Plan topics include:
Aging and Growing Older
Aging, Why Do We Age?, Aging Bodies, Aging Minds, Death and Dying, Coping with Death, Deciding to Die, End of Life Decisions
Alcohol Tobacco and Caffeine
I expected to see some lesson plans with objectives tied into standards of some sort. This package is basically just PowerPoints, written homework assignments, and blank note sheets that go with the PowerPoint presentations. It's far from any type of activity-based lessons that I was seeking.

When were the Health Lesson Plans created? Is the information current?

Hi Trailrunner - The Lessons created for Health were created from 2007-2010. All information is current, except for the new change in the Nutrition PPT, where we have changed from a pyramid to 'The Plate.' I downloaded your lesson plans, and for some reason I am unable to open it....My laptop is new, and it runs Windows 7, 64 bit....has anyone else experienced this?? Is there a quick fix?? The message I get is "is not a valid win32 application"

Hi Lisa,
I had purchase your part 2 health lessons and today I paid for part 1 since my students really enjoyed your ppt. Right after I purchased Part 1 lessons, our principal came in into my office and asked me that I needed to add the syllabus and a note for open house for next year. So I am in a dilemma right now, so I was hoping you can help me, because you don't have your syllabus and note for open house in Part 1 or 2 but in the full year. So I was wondering if you can help me by sending me just your syllabus and your note for open house since I have both part 1 and 2. I could pay for them separately, because I just could not pay for the whole year lesson plans again, since I have part 1 and 2. I know it was my mistake, I should have just paid for the whole year, but the admin here are are changing things around a bit for next semester. I hope you understand. Thanks for your help.
