After your end of the year testing (it seems like it never ends--lol), this fun word card game works great in small groups.
While the directions are written on the pdf file, having created and used this game with kindergartners, I found it helpful to limit the cards I gave them to four. This way, players would place the four alphabet cards down in front of them in a 2X2 square. This was much easier than having them hold them in their hands. It also allowed me, the teacher to see if there was a word that they were missing.
2nd grade is a bit of a stretch since these are truly CVC words--but if you're tutoring or your student is struggling, this might be a nice change of pace!
Word families covered are: ap, ad, an, at, ed, en, em, in, it, id, ip, ot, op, ob, od, ut, un, ug, um.
Again, this is just a fun Wonderland themed card game to play with your students, and at a dollar for the download, it's less than a Redbox rental! Hope you enjoy!
